Write each trade down: what the plan was, what happened, and how you felt. The page keeps the list in this browser, works out the figures from it and draws the running total. A journal records what happened. It does not say what will.
Before you write anything
Read this first. It is the whole of what happens to what you type here.
Reference dataYour own entries, kept in this browser. Educational information, not investment advice or a recommendation to trade.
The journal is written to this browser’s own storage, on this device, under one entry. A different browser, a different device or a private window will not have it.
No trade, note or figure on this page is sent to GIO4X or to anyone else. There is no account behind it and no copy on a server, so nobody can restore it for you.
If you clear this site’s data, or your browser clears it for you, the journal goes with it. So does “Delete everything” at the foot of the journal.
Export makes a file on your device that this page can read back. It is the only copy outside this browser, and it is yours to keep safe.
The journal
One entry for each trade that is over. The journal holds up to 500. Every figure below is worked out from your entries, and each has its definition beside it.
Printed from the browser the journal is kept in. A record of past trades, as the person who made them wrote them down. Past results say nothing about future ones.
The running total
The journal is read from this browser once the page has loaded.
Each point is the sum of your results up to that trade, in date order. It is drawn from what you typed. It is a record of the past and not a forecast.

A group is shown from 3 trades. “Gained” is the share of the group with a result above zero; “Total” is the sum of its results; “Average” is the total ÷ the trades in the group. A difference between two small groups is often chance.

Export makes a CSV file in this browser: nothing is uploaded. Import reads a file this page exported and adds its trades to those already here; a file with anything wrong in it is refused whole. Printing uses your browser’s own print window, where “Save as PDF” is one of the printers.
What it is, and is not
People keep a journal to see what they did, set beside what they had meant to do. That is all this one shows. The arithmetic behind a trade’s size is on the Position Size tool, and the Rule bench shows how easily one good run misleads.
The result of a trade is the figure you enter from your own statement. The page does not check it against the prices, and it cannot: it does not know a contract size, a commission or a swap.
A share that gained, an expectancy, a profit factor: each is arithmetic on trades that are over. None of them is a property of the next trade, and past results say nothing about future ones.
Figures for the whole journal appear from 5 trades and for a group from 3, and even then a handful of trades can look like a pattern by chance. A difference between two moods or two weekdays is a question to look into, not a finding.
The page does not say what to trade, when, or how much, and it does not judge a trade. What the entries mean is for the person who wrote them to work out.
Questions people ask
Trading foreign exchange on margin carries a high level of risk, and may not be suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to trade foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose.
