01The short version#
- This website sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies.
- It loads no third-party scripts, so no third party can set a cookie through a script on these pages.
- It counts page views, accepted forms and searches itself, as daily totals, with no cookie and no identifier of any kind. Counting is on by default; you can switch it off, and a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser is honoured.
- It keeps a small number of display and convenience settings in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to GIO4X.
- For the length of a visit it may keep four items in session storage: an announcement you closed, a live chat you started, the stop a guided tour has reached, and the pages on which you answered “Was this page helpful?”.
- An authentication cookie is set only for GIO4X staff who sign in to the internal console. Visitors to the public site do not receive it.
- So that the calculators and pages you have opened still open without a connection, it keeps copies of them in your browser’s cache storage. The copies are sent nowhere and can be removed or switched off.
03Local storage#
Local storage is a small store inside your own browser. Unlike a cookie, its contents are not sent with each request. This website uses the following keys.
| Key | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
| gx:prefs | Theme, colour palette (for a palette of your own, the one or two hue values you chose), density, motion, contrast, text size, effects, whether pointer effects are on, link underlining, time zone, remembered platform, whether TradingView panels load automatically, whether your visits are counted, whether interface sounds are on and at which volume, whether the guided tour has been started or declined, whether Academy lessons open as “Read” or as “Story”,and whether an offline copy may be kept. | So the site looks and behaves the way you set it on your next visit. |
| gx:recent | The path and title of the last pages you opened, and the last searches you made on this website, once you have switched that list on from My desk. | So My desk can list them for you to return to. Until you switch the list on, this key does not exist and nothing about the pages you open is recorded; “Stop and clear this list” removes it again. |
| gx:saved | The path and title of each article, blog post, lesson, primer, glossary term or tool you chose to save for later. | So My desk can list them when you return. |
| gx:calc | The figures you typed into the Trader Toolkit calculators. | So one tool can reuse the inputs you gave another. |
| gx:consent | Your choice about loading third-party content, such as chart frames. | So you are not asked the same question on every page. |
| gx:watch | Instruments you added to a watchlist. | So My desk can list them when you return. |
| gx:boot | The time the short start-up animation was shown in this browser, or was left out because reduced motion or low visual effects was on. | So the animation plays once at most, on the first page of your first visit, and is not shown on later pages or visits. |
| gx:learn | The glossary terms whose “Check yourself” question you answered correctly, and the Academy lessons you have completed by answering all three of their questions correctly. Also the days you have ticked on the page “Your first week on 777 Raptor”. | So the glossary can mark the terms you have checked and show how many, and the Academy can mark the lessons you have completed and count them by level and by learning path. No score is kept. Each can be cleared where it is shown, with “Start over”: the terms from the glossary, the lessons from the Academy, the first-week ticks from that page. |
| gx:sim | The state of the Practice desk simulation in Labs: its invented prices, the example account, example positions and orders, and the newest journal entries. No real prices, no real account and nothing about you. | So a practice session survives a reload. Written only if you tick “Keep this practice session in this browser” on that page, which is off by default; unticking it deletes the key. |
| gx:morning-depth | The reading depth you chose in the Morning Room: quick, standard or deep. | So the Morning Room opens at the same depth on your next visit. |
| gx:play | The last day you answered the daily riddle correctly and your run of days in a row; your best score in the Workshop game “Sixty seconds”, in pips of an invented price; which of the five hidden riddles you have solved; the newest “recently added” notice you have put away with “Got it”; and, once you have started the passport on My desk, the short names of the stamps you have collected. No addresses, no times and nothing about you. | So the riddle can show your run, the game can show your best, and My desk can show your passport. Each part is written only by something you do: answering a riddle, finishing a round, or pressing “Start my passport”. Handing the passport back deletes its stamps. |
| gx:journal | The trades you have written into the Trading journal, up to 500: for each, the date, the instrument, the side, the size, the entry, exit and optional stop prices, the result you typed, your two notes, a mood and whether you followed your plan. | So your journal is still there the next time you open the page in this browser. It is written only when you add, change, import or delete a trade, it is never sent anywhere, and the key is removed when the journal is empty. The journal’s own CSV export is the backup. |
| gx:plan | The answers you have typed into the Trading plan builder: a name and a date for the plan, and your own words on markets and times, risk per trade, a daily stop, exposure, entry and exit rules, routine and review. Text only, as you wrote it. | So your plan is still there the next time you open the page in this browser. It is written as you type, when you import a plan file and when you clear the plan; it is never sent anywhere, and the key is removed when every answer is empty. The builder’s own JSON export is the backup. |
| gx:qotd | The last day you answered the Academy’s question of the day, your run of days in a row, the longest run, and which answer you chose on that day and whether it was right. No addresses, no times and nothing about you. | So the question of the day can show your run on its own page, on the Academy page and on My desk, and show the same result if you open it again the same day. Written only when you answer the day’s question; “Start over” on that page removes it. There is no account and no leaderboard, and nothing is sent anywhere. |
| gx:cards | For each glossary flashcard you have graded: the term’s short name, which of the five boxes the card is in, and the day it is next due. No addresses, no times and nothing about you. | So the glossary flashcards can show the cards that are due today, on their own page, on the glossary page and on My desk, and bring a card back later when you knew it and the next day when you did not. Written only when you grade a card; “Start over” on that page removes it. There is no account and no score, and nothing is sent anywhere. |
A key is written only when you use the feature it belongs to. If you never change a setting, use a tool or answer the invitation to the guided tour, nothing is stored.
The My desk page gathers the watchlist, saved pages, recent list, calculator figures and learning progress on one screen. It reads them from this browser and sends them nowhere. From that page you can export these keys, with your display preferences, to a file that your browser saves on your device, and import such a file in another browser. The file is created and read inside your browser; it is not uploaded to GIO4X.
04Session storage#
Session storage is like local storage, but the browser empties it when you close the tab. This website uses four keys there.
| Key | What it holds | Why |
|---|---|---|
| gx:announcement:dismissed | The text of an announcement line you closed. | So the same announcement is not shown again during this visit. A new announcement is shown. |
| gx:chat | The identifier and access token of a live chat you started. | So the conversation continues when you move to another page. The token is sent to GIO4X’s database with each chat message, which is how the conversation is recognised as yours. It is removed when the chat ends. |
| gx:tour | The number of the stop a guided tour has reached. | So the tour continues when it takes you to the next page, and after a reload. It is removed when the tour ends, and it is not sent anywhere. |
| gx:helpful | The paths of the pages on which you answered “Was this page helpful?” during this visit. No answer, no comment and nothing about you. | So the question is asked once per page per visit. The list stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. The answer itself is sent to GIO4X when you give it, as the page’s address, yes or no, and any comment you add, with nothing that identifies you or your browser. |
None of the four is written unless you close an announcement, start a chat, start the guided tour or answer “Was this page helpful?”.
05Offline copy#
If you switch it on, a small program supplied by this website itself (a service worker) keeps copies in your browser’s cache storage, so that part of this website still opens without a connection. It is off until you switch it on, on the preferences page or My desk. Cache storage is a store inside your own browser, separate from cookies and from local storage.
What is kept:
- The Trader Toolkit page and each calculator, the My desk page and the page shown when you are offline. These are fetched once, a few seconds after a page has loaded, and renewed about once a day.
- A copy of each public page you open, up to the 50 most recent, without any query string. The system status page and the support pages are never kept.
- This website’s own scripts, styles, fonts, logo and icons, so that a kept page can be displayed.
What it does not do:
- Nothing is sent anywhere. The copies stay in your browser and are read only by your browser.
- While you are connected you always receive the current page from the website. A copy is shown only when the request for a page fails.
- It does not keep or intercept anything from the staff console, any form you submit, live chat, the counting of visits, or anything from another website such as TradingView.
To remove it: use “Remove the offline copy” on the preferences page, which also stops it being made again until you switch it back on (that choice is kept in the gx:prefs key); or clear this website’s data in your browser. “Clear everything stored by GIO4X on this device” empties the copies as well; with the offline copy still switched on, they are made again as you open pages.
The website can also be installed as an app from the My desk and preferences pages, where your browser offers that. The installed app is this website in its own window; it stores nothing beyond what this notice lists.
06Counting visits#
This website counts how often its pages are viewed, how often its forms are accepted and what its search is used for. It keeps daily totals and nothing else: a total is a number for a day, not a record of you.
What is counted:
- Page views. When a page of the public website has loaded, your browser sends one request to this website’s own address with two things: the path of the page (for example /markets/forex, with anything after a question mark or a hash removed) and one word for where you came from: “none”, “internal” (another page of this site), “search” (a search engine) or “other” (another website). The server adds 1 to that day’s total for that page. A path that is not one of the site’s published pages is counted as “other”.
- Forms. When a contact, account-interest, support or newsletter form is accepted, the server adds 1 to that day’s total for that form.
- Searches. When you use the site search, your browser compares what you typed with the site’s own list of terms, on your device. If it is exactly one of them (a symbol, a glossary term, the name of a tool or a page), that term’s total for the day goes up by 1. If it is anything else, only an “unmatched” total goes up: what you typed is not sent and not stored.
What is not collected:
- No cookie is set for this, and nothing is written to your browser.
- There is no visitor, device or session identifier of any kind, so two page views cannot be linked to each other or to you.
- The totals hold no IP address, no browser or device details, no referring address, no query string and no time of day: only a day, a page, form or term, and a number.
- The server receives your IP address and your browser’s user-agent with the request, as it does with every request. It uses the address in memory to limit how fast one address can add to the totals, and the user-agent to leave out automated visitors. The counter neither stores nor logs either.
- Nothing is sent to any third party. The totals are kept in GIO4X’s own hosted database and are read by GIO4X staff.
Your choice:
- Counting is on by default. You can switch it off with “Count my visits” on the preferences page. The choice is kept in this browser with your display settings (the gx:prefs key); clearing what this website has stored returns it to on.
- If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is counted, whatever the switch says: your browser sends no page-view or search request, and the server leaves a form you send out of its totals.
- With the switch off, your browser sends no page-view or search request. A form you choose to send is still added to that form’s total, because the form itself is stored in order to answer you and the total is only a count of those.
- The staff console is never counted. Totals older than 400 days are deleted.
07Third-party content#
Some pages can show content supplied by TradingView: a price chart on each instrument page; an economic calendar on the Economic Events page and in the Morning Room; a market overview and a ticker tape on the Market Command page; and heat maps, cross rates and quote tables on the asset-class pages and the Currency Strength page. Each is an embedded frame that is loaded only when you ask for it. Once loaded, the frame is TradingView’s own page: it may set its own cookies under its own domain, governed by TradingView’s privacy policy, and this website cannot read them. No TradingView script runs on this website’s own pages.
On the preferences page you can choose to have TradingView frames load automatically. That choice is off by default and is kept in the gx:prefs key with your display settings. While it is on, each frame loads as it scrolls into view, without a further question, and connects your browser to TradingView at that moment. Switching it off, or clearing what this website has stored, returns every frame to waiting for its button.
Reference exchange rates are fetched by GIO4X’s server, not by your browser, so the rate provider does not see your visit.
The announcement line, live chat, the notices on the Status page and the support hours are read by your browser directly from GIO4X’s hosted database project. That host sits behind a network provider (Cloudflare), which may set its own short-lived security cookie on the database’s address, not on this website’s. This website cannot read it and does not use it.
08Your controls#
You can review and change every display setting, switch the counting of your visits off, or clear everything this website has stored in your browser, from the preferences page. Clearing your browser’s site data has the same effect.
The offline copy is removed, and switched off or on, from the same page. Single items (one watched instrument, one saved page, the recent list, the calculator figures) can be removed from My desk.
09Changes to this notice#
If this website begins to store anything else in your browser, or to count anything else, this notice will be updated before the change is released, and the date and version above will change with it.
