777 Raptor · one demo trade
One demo trade, followed from the decision to the statement: how its size was chosen, what it was going to cost, what it was filled at, why it closed and where every figure is kept. An example on simulated prices, with the working shown.
The trade
Everything below is worked out from these twelve lines and from nothing else. They were chosen to make the arithmetic easy to follow. They are examples: not a quote from any day, not a published trading condition and not a trade anybody made.
SimulationSource: 777 Raptor demo engineA demo trade: virtual funds, on simulated prices. Example inputs; every other figure on this page is derived from them.
01
The trader does not begin with a size. They begin with a stop-loss and an amount they are prepared to lose, 50.00 USD, and the ticket works out the largest size that loses no more than that if the position is closed exactly at the stop.
The working
The size is always rounded down, never up, so the planned loss never exceeds the amount entered. The entry used here is the ask on screen, which is where a buy is filled; the margin converts the pair’s base currency at the middle price.

At the quote on screen now, which is simulated. The spread is not a separate charge: it is the gap between the buying and the selling price. Swap is settled when the position is closed.
Size from the amount I am prepared to lose (USD)
Amount
50.00
Size 0.20: closed exactly at the stop-loss it loses 50.00 USD. Margin 216.98 USD. A stop-loss is filled at the price available when it is reached, so the loss can be larger; commission and swap are not in it.
Risk guardrails: this order is inside the guardrails you set.
02
With the size set, the ticket states four costs in US dollars at the quote on screen. None of them is a surprise afterwards: they are the same rules the server applies.
The working
Seven nights are counted as 9, because a Wednesday night counts three times. The spread is not a separate charge: it is the gap between the buying and the selling price, and it is already inside the trade’s profit or loss. Commission is taken from the balance once; swap is settled only when the position is closed.
03
The order is sent with the price on screen, 1.08496. A demo order is filled by the server at the server’s own price when the order arrives, whatever the screen showed. In this example the price had moved two points, so the fill is at 1.08498. The receipt puts the two side by side.
The working
A buy filled above the price requested is against the client; filled below it, in their favour. The spread on a fill is the distance from the fill price to the middle of the quote at that moment (1.08492). The only thing taken from the balance at the entry is the commission.

An open buy is valued at the bid, the price it could be sold at. A while later the quote is 1.08710 / 1.08722, and the position shows a profit that is not yet anything: it is floating.
The working
Equity is the balance plus what is floating. The balance has not moved since the entry: nothing is booked until the position closes. The stop-loss and the take-profit stay where they were set; the server watches them, whether or not the terminal is open.
05
The price turns. When the server next looks, the bid is 1.08243: below the stop-loss at 1.08246. The server closes the position at the price available then, not at the level, and writes down why. The closing order has a receipt of its own.
The working
The amount at risk was a plan made at the price on screen. The trade lost a little more, and each part of the difference is on a receipt.
The spread does not appear in this sum, and that is not an omission: the plan was already measured from the buying price to the stop, so the spread was inside it. In a fast market the two slippages can be much larger than a few points; on a live account they depend on the market at that moment.

Why did this close?
The price reached your stop-loss at 1.08246. The server closed the position at the market price, 1.08243. That is 0.00003 worse than the level: a stop-loss is filled at the price available when it is reached, not at the level itself.
Closed 2026-10-05 13:47:31 UTC. Recorded as: Stop-loss. These words are put together by fixed rules from the closing order’s record.

Nobody writes the trade into the journal. It appears there by itself when it closes, with the figures above, held for 3 h 35 min. What the trader adds is theirs alone: tags and a note. The week’s review counts it as one loss, and says that one trade is a small sample.

The client portal makes a statement for each account from the terminal’s records. On the statement of account the trade is one line under “Closed trades”; on the monthly statement it is inside the month’s totals. With one trade in the month, the two say the same thing.

| EURUSD | Buy | 0.20 | 2026-10-05 10:12 | 1.08498 | 2026-10-05 13:47 | 1.08243 | 0.70 | 0.00 | −51.00 | Stop-loss |
The monthly statement, for a month with this one trade. Net is the result before costs, plus swap, less commission. Two lines read “Not recorded”, and mean it: the statement does not carry the spread (the terminal’s receipts and its costs page do), and the terminal reports a balance at the time it is asked, not at a past date, so the statement gives no opening or closing balance. A demo statement says on its face that it is not a record of real money.
08
Every figure on this page has one home in the terminal’s records, written by the server when the thing happened. The screens read from those records; none keeps a copy of its own.
A value the server did not record is shown as “not recorded” and is never filled in afterwards. On a live account the price requested and the quote at the fill are not recorded until the execution service passes them, so live slippage and spread read “not recorded” today. Live trading is not yet connected.
SimulationSource: 777 Raptor demo engineOne worked example on simulated prices. Educational information, not investment advice or a recommendation to trade. A demo trade says nothing about a result with real money, and past results say nothing about future ones.
A demo account has virtual funds and simulated prices. Place one small order with a stop-loss, then open its receipt and read it against this page.
Trading foreign exchange on margin carries a high level of risk, and may not be suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to trade foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose.
