What is an Islamic trading account?

At GIO4X it is the swap-free version of an account type: a trading account on which no overnight swap is charged or credited when a position is held past the end of the trading day. It is offered on request, subject to approval.

What does swap-free mean?

Understanding it

No overnight swap, charged or credited.

On an ordinary account a position held past the end of the trading day is charged or credited swap, a financing adjustment worked out from interest rates. On a swap-free account it is neither.

That is the one thing that changes. The spread is still paid on every trade, any commission still applies, and the position is still leveraged, still needs margin and can still be closed by a stop out.
