Mandate: Low and stable inflation, while contributing to high and stable output and employment and to counteracting the build-up of financial imbalances.
How it works: The committee holds several scheduled meetings a year. At some of them it publishes a Monetary Policy Report that includes the bank’s own forecast for the policy rate. Separately from monetary policy, Norges Bank manages the Government Pension Fund Global, Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, on behalf of the Ministry of Finance.
